About 3RINCs

Innovation Beyond Net Zero

The 3R International Scientific Conference on Material Cycles and Waste Management (3RINCs) is a premier regional forum for Asia and the Pacific that brings together experts, practitioners, policy-makers, and industry stakeholders to advance science, innovation, and policy for a sustainable circular society.

Since its inaugural meeting in Kyoto in 2014, 3RINCs has been held regularly in various Asian and Pacific locations, providing a platform for exchange of knowledge on waste management, recycling, resource circulation, and circular economy practices. Over time, it has evolved into a key venue for cross-sector dialogue—linking municipalities, industry, academia, and international organizations.

At 3RINCs, presenters publish abstracts in a conference e-book, and selected full papers may be considered for special issues (e.g. in Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management). The program typically includes keynote lectures, general and special sessions, technology demonstrations, and opportunities for partnerships across sectors.

By convening regional and global thought leaders, 3RINCs aims to catalyze collaborative efforts and innovative solutions toward decarbonization, resource efficiency, and resilient circular systems in Asia and beyond.
